Profile
Believe it or not Kitson first started in ‘Theatreland’ at 8 years old, as a noisy and annoying little munchkin, in a production of The Wizard of Oz with the junior Albany players. Some say, not much has changed apart from not being so little anymore!
Since then his love of singing and acting has lead him to perform in many local and international showpieces. Kitson lived in Canada through his early teenage years where he was involved with the touring theatre group ‘Characters Incorporated’, which boosted his confidence to sing and act. He has been involved with and performed in the ‘Hastings Scout Gang Show’ for the last 16 years, which he is now voice coach and assistant producer. It was through the Gang Show and the scout association that he gained a T.V credit in the BBC2 Documentary ‘When We Were Scouts’. In the summer of 2006, he attended a musical theatre and acting course at the London Guildhall School of Music and Drama where he obtained a diploma in musical theatre.
Kitson is currently the lead singer in a successful,
semi-professioanl, Rock‘n’ Roll band called ‘NOT GUILTY’. More recently he has also been privileged to perform with the ‘Phoenix Theatre Company’ at the Stables Theatre in the following productions; Anything Goes, Hot Mikado, Pal Joey, Sugar, Jekyll & Hyde, Sweeney Todd and The Bakers Wife including this years production of the European premier of the brand new musical ‘FRANKENSTEIN’.
In autmun 2008 Kitson played ‘Rooster Hannigan’ in the Hastleons production of ‘ANNIE’.
Kitson is a member of the stables theatre and in February 2009, is performing for the first time, with the Stables theatre group, the lead character in the Alan Ayckbourn comedy ‘Roleplay’.
